Mystic Dongla Trek -15 Days - JJ - April-May September-November


This trek will include a visit to Punakha and Wangdiphodrang, two very important towns of the country. It will take you through Trongsa valley that is dominated by the magnificent Trongsa Dzong. The trek starts from Lhuntse and takes you to the valley of Tashi Yangtse that is home to the rare black-necked cranes. Physical fitness is required for this relatively difficult trek.

A day trip to Taktsang Gompa, Visit Drugyel Dzong

03 Paro-Thimphu

National Museum in Paro, Drive to Thimphu, Sightseeing in the capital city
 

04 THIMPHU – WANGDI

Drive to Punakha and Wangdi valley. Panoramic views of Bhutan Mountain range including Bhutan’s highest peak Gangkar Punsum (7500m).
 

05 WANGDI - TONGSA

5-6 hrs drive passing Chendebji Chorten.
 

06 TONGSA – BUMTHANG

explore Tongsa town, Ta Dzong, Tongsa Dzong, Yotongla
 

07 BUMTHANG – MONGAR

7 hrs drive crossing the 2 passes, the Sheytangla and Thrumsheyla.
 

08 MONGAR - LHUNTSE

3 hrs drive along the Kurichu.
 

09 LHUNTSE - MENJI

Trek starts from Kuri Zam through paddy fields.Alt. 2300m. distance-10kms. Time – 5/6 hours.
 

10 MENJI - PEMI

Uphill walk. Alt. 2446m. distance- 9kms. Time - 4/5 hours
 

11 PEMI - TAUPANG

Pass by Dongla. Alt. 2440m. distance-22km. Time- 8/9 hours.
 

12 TAUPANG - TASHI YANGTSE

Trail through the chirpine and hard wood forest. Alt. 1300m. distance- 19km time- 7/8 hours.
 

13 TASHI YANGTSE – TASHIGANG

Visit the wooden cups factory, the 18th century chorten kora and Doksum town and also Gom Kora temple.
 

14 TASHIGANG – SAMDRUP JONGKHAR

6-7 hours drive to Samdrup jongkhar. Enroute visit Zangdopelri monastery and Khaling handloom centre.
 

15 SAMDRUPJONGKHAR - GUWAHATI

3-4 hrs drive through the tea estates of Assam to Guwahati where we catch the onward flight.
